What do I get if I purchase Factions Preorder today?
I was thinking about buying Factions. I noticed that the store in my area still sells the Pre-Order version.
What do I get if I buy the pre-order version, considering the release of Factions was several months ago? Do I get the same thing I would as if I bought the regular version? Do I get the dragon minipet? Do I get the special preorder items? Or will I not be able to log on, because the preorder version is outdated? |

The Kuunavang (dragon minipet) is for Colector's edition, I'm not sure if it comes with pre-order or not, and you probably would be able to get those extra items seeing as when you login you just do /bonusitems or whatever it is.

mini pet is definatley not preorder. the bonus item was specific to the shop. some shops got a ranger item some a warrior, etc. so it depends on which they got but you should get the item i would suspect

1 No, you need to have the preorder package.
2 You should get the mini dragon with the CE Anet gave that as a gift for the CE becuase of some unforseen delays with CE. 3 Yes, just two weapons one for the Sin and one for Rit. 4 Yes, you can still log on and the game will auto updated to the current version. |

There is no preorder version if you mean a playable game. There was a "preorder pack", that gave you the ritualist and assasin bonus items, a cd with wallpapers and trailers, and a key for a trial of Prophecies. Repeat, this does NOT contain a playable version of Factions. You must buy the actual Factions or Factions CE to be able to play.
Greenchylde, the varying preorder items was for Prophecies. Factions preorders contain ONLY the weapons for the new classes (assasin and rit) that it brought. There is no pre-order for Nightfall yet. Last edited by KiyaKoreena; Aug 12, 2006 at 01:54 PM // 13:54.. |

Too the best of my knowledge you should still get the mini dragon since I never read that we could only get it within x amount of time. You may want to ask Anet to just to make sure |

Ok, lots of misinformation in this thread, since this is a preorder for FACTIONS, not PROPHECIES
1.) if you buy the preorder, you'll get a trial key good for 10 hours / 14 days, whichever comes first 2.) if you buy the preorder you'll get 2 items, a pair of daggers and a ritualist staff 3.) if you buy the preorder you will NOT be able to play the game. The preorder is simply a way for people to tell a store, I'd like to buy a copy of this game when it comes out. Stores can track the number of preorders sold before the game is released and then order an appropriate number of the final release inorder to meet the demand shown by the preorder. The preorder itself will not allow you to play Factions except in 1 situation, the company publishing the preorder is allowing you to participate in certain special events before the release of the game, such as stress-testing servers to ensure they can handle the load, or in some cases, early access to the game. This is what ANet did, anyone who purchased a preorder of Prophecies or Factions was allowed into what they called Beta Weekend Events. A modified version of the game was created and anyone with an account and a preorder key appropriate to the game been sampled, was allowed to play and test things for a weekend. Furthermore, the Factions preorder also allowed people to start playing the game for real 1 day earlier than everyone else, however this access was on a timer and if you didn't put in a full version key before the timer expired, your access was cut off till such a key was entered. Typically, preorders when bought in a store, retail for $10-$15 dollars, and this money is then deducted from the sale price of the final release when it becomes available (provided you have your receipt), making the preorder package free in the end. Not every retailer does this however, so be warned. Some retailers sell the preorder for the full cost of the game and just give you the game when it becomes available. Either way works out the same in the end, but the first one means you have your money in your pocket for just a little bit longer. The second method works in the stores favor as it ensures they are getting the purchase from you and that you won't buy the preorder and then later change your mind about buying the full version of the game. As for the mini-pet dragon, this is available with every copy of the FACTIONS Collectors Edition, whether purchased today or 3 months ago, there is no time frame on getting it. You get ONE per account and if you give it away or sell it, you can't get another one except from another player. Last edited by dargon; Aug 12, 2006 at 06:58 PM // 18:58.. |

Wow, and I thought the preorder package included the whole game.
However, Lets say I purchase the preorder version + the actual game when the store brings it to me. Would I get the same bonuses as if I bought the preorder before the game was released, or would it be just like the regular version of the game? Thanks for your help. |

You'll get the bonuses from a preorder package no matter when you get it. If you could find one of the prophecies preorders, you'ld get the bonus from it also.

The only thing you would get is the weapons, simple as that.

If you add the preorder key to your account, you will receive the two preorder weapons. If you don't already have a Factions full-version key installed, however, these weapons would be worthless to you, since they're for the new professions. So don't get the pre-order unless you plan on buying Factions as well, else it'll be just a waste of money.
As far as the CE and dragon mini-pet, if you add a CE key, you will still get the mini, regardless of how long you wait to add the key. |
